NEW THEORY of the NEW GRADE CHART
Observation: In 1981 New Era Dianetics was placed after Grade IV on the Classification and Gradation Chart. This is not in alignment with earlier LRH data.
Tech Application: Looking earlier in time for more basic data and comparing and evaluating bulletins against earlier bulletins and basics. (consistency)
Data: It has even become a matter of court record that LRH’s signature under an issue does not guarantee that LRH has written or even seen it.
The following (in italics) are quotes from bulletins and issues from 1950 – 1970 and speak mainly for themselves:

“Amazingly, the reissue of Dianetics as Standard Dianetics caused about a dozen people (even in high places unfortunately) to at once assume that Dianetics wiped out any need for Power, Scientology Clearing or anything else! Even an unauthorized Policy Letter (not signed by me) and an HCO B (also not signed by me) gave this impression.”
Conclusion: All data point towards the correct grade chart sequence being Dianetics then Grades. This was the case on all Grade Charts issued prior to 1981. In current practice (2007) we have been using Dianetics effectively on the majority of cases starting in auditing as the first action. There are only a few exceptions (heavy out ruds, resistive cases) where a life repair or other action was needed.
